HP Specter x360 15 review — Versatile and productive tablet laptop
Hybrid tablet-laptops are becoming more popular due to their versatility. Their productivity has increased, now they can replace a computer. I tested the HP Specter x360 15 with a 15.6-inch 4K screen, a 4-core Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512TB SSD, and a $1,500 Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card.
HP Specter x360 15 design
The Specter x360 15 looks like a larger version of the sleek and stylish Specter x360 13. The Ash Silver color scheme pairs copper accents with an all-aluminum frame.
The device can work in 4 modes: Notebook, Tent, Presentation and Tablet. Despite its thin bezels, the HP Specter x360 15 remains too big and heavy to be used as a https://jiji.ng/mobile-phones/apple-iphone-5 tablet for long periods of time. A 16:9 screen is more suitable for a laptop.
The build quality is high, the design is solid, nothing flexes, the hinge rotates easily, despite the fact that the gadget is firmly held in every mode.
Ports and connectors
The HP Specter x360 15 has a USB 3.0 port, a full-size HDMI port, and two USB Type-C ports. One of the USB Type-C connectors supports Thunderbolt 3 interface, both can be used for charging via the included charger. Unlike some competitors, HP has taken care of users and offers not only Type-C.
Wireless connectivity is provided by the Intel AC8265 adapter with support for 2×2 MU-MIMO, as well as Bluetooth 4.2. A standard headphone and microphone jack is at hand, while an SD card slot is handy for transferring images and videos from the camera.
Keyboard and touchpad
The Specter x360 15 supports all the input technologies you need, including active stylus and Windows Hello.
The keyboard is comfortable, the keys have sufficient travel and a pleasant click. Springy keyboard buttons are pressed so softly that even with a long typing hands do not get tired. The backlight is evenly distributed, light leakage is minimal, but it can only be turned on or off, there are no brightness settings.
